Unfortunately, hit-and-run drivers are responsible for a significant percentage of traffic incidents in the Silver State. According to recent research, Nevada has one of the nation’s highest rates of fatal hit-and-run accidents.

The most recent statistics from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety suggest that more than one hit-and-run accident happens every minute on U.S. highways, making Nevada’s hit-and-run accident rate especially alarming. In 2016, over 2,050 people died as a consequence of these occurrences, the greatest number ever recorded and an increase of more than 60 percent since 2009.

As a direct consequence of such catastrophic automobile accidents, victims may experience immense financial burdens, terrible physical pain and suffering that prevents them from living full lives and significantly decreases their quality of life, and intense mental sorrow, not to mention frustrating negotiations with major insurance conglomerates or at-fault drivers.

Moreover, if the person responsible for the accident escapes the scene without providing assistance or information to the victim, the victim may not know where to seek assistance, making the situation more difficult.
