Injury Car Wrecks in the State of Nevada
Thousands of fatal incidents in Nevada occurred within the last year alone, and a majority of them involved drivers who were under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to state authorities. A record high of nearly 400 people died in drunk driving-related accidents on Nevada’s roads last year, the highest rate in the state in 14 years.
Even worse, in May of this year, there was an almost 110% increase in the number of fatal accidents compared to the same period in 2020. Plus, more than 100 collisions occurred in Clark County between January and May of 2021, resulting in more than 100 deaths. These figures and facts are particularly grim considering that, per recent statistics provided publicly by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 30,000 Americans are killed in car accidents each year.
Suffering injuries in a preventable auto accident is devastating, to say the least. For those who are killed in these crashes caused by reckless drivers, the wrongful death of someone close to you is often unbearably difficult to endure, especially considering that bereaved loved ones often pay out of pocket for sudden burial costs and funerary expenses. Thankfully, in Nevada, surviving spouses, children, and parents may bring a wrongful death lawsuit for financial compensation if a deceased loved one was killed in an accident caused by a negligent driver or a defective vehicle component.
Needless to say, our attorney team at the Eric Roy Law Firm believes that all of these damages and more should be covered by the at-fault party or their insurance company.
