Las Vegas, NV (May 9, 2022) – At 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening, May 9, fire rescue teams from Clark County and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to a home fire at 6031 Orange Hill Drive.
The top of the single-story house was filled with thick smoke, and the blaze was revealed to have originated in the attic as firefighters entered the home. At the site, medics assessed the injured residents and determined that moderate injuries, such as minor burns and smoke inhalation, had occurred.
However, EMTs did not offer information on the number of injured individuals or their present conditions. The circumstances behind the fire are still under review.
We hope for the complete recovery of all those hurt in this fire, as well as all residents displaced and their families.
Injuries in Nevada Residential Fires
Authorities in Nevada reported more than 20 house fire fatalities in 2020 alone. Furthermore, the nationwide average for 2019 was roughly three deaths and ten injuries per 1,000 fires. Commercial fire deaths and injuries, as well as other burn injuries, are uncommon, but they are devastating to those affected by them.
Serious burns can occur when a sufferer is exposed to extremely hot flames, caustic or acidic chemicals, and intense heat. In addition to being excruciatingly painful, these injuries can cause permanent deformities, along with expensive medical treatments, including skin grafts and related procedures.
To make matters worse, persons who have been affected by these tragedies frequently cope with financial ruin, excruciating injuries, and long-lasting emotional trauma. When victims succumb to injuries sustained in a blaze, their families may find themselves in an exceedingly stressful, frustrating situation. While grieving the abrupt loss of their loved one, families sometimes face astronomical medical expenses and costs associated with the funeral and burial.
