Las Vegas, NV (June 22, 2022) – On Wednesday evening, June 22, officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were sent to investigate a collision involving a tractor-trailer driver in which at least one person was wounded.

Just before 7:55 p.m., an accident on northbound I-15 at the Charleston Boulevard exit totally shut down the interstate. The crash generated a significant traffic gridlock that lasted over an hour while paramedics and emergency medical services units from Las Vegas were sent to the site to assess the victims’ injuries.

However, neither the LVMPD nor any other first responders at the scene have provided any information on the accident’s cause or the injuries sustained by those involved. While the official inquiry into the circumstances leading up to today’s traffic accident continues, no new information has been provided.

We wish everyone involved in today’s collision a speedy and thorough recovery.

Semi-Trailer Truck Crashes Across Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - I-15 Site of Injury Truck Accident at Charleston BlvdThe Nevada Department of Transportation claims that there were more than 49,000 car accidents in the state in a single recent year. Tractor-trailers and other large, heavy vehicles, unfortunately, have far greater accident rates. Truck accidents in Nevada accounted for over 11% of all traffic deaths. Unfortunately, serious truck accidents happen much too often in Nevada, especially given the state’s expansive roads.

Over 4,600 people were also killed as a consequence of these mishaps, proving Nevada has an unusually high rate of tragic tractor-trailer accidents. This issue is especially prevalent on busy highways like Highway 95 through Las Vegas, Interstate 15 across Reno and beyond, U.S. Route 93, and Nevada Interstate 395, which traverses the area surrounding Carson City. Needless to say, in the aftermath of such occurrences, victims and their families are extremely vulnerable.
