Las Vegas, NV (May 11, 2022) – In the overnight hours of Wednesday, May 11, Nevada Roadway Patrol officers reported to the scene of a severe collision on a highway near the suburb of Paradise.
Right around 10:45 p.m., officers were directing traffic on northbound Interstate 15 at Tropicana Avenue when the incident occurred. Due to delayed traffic on the road, two automobiles crashed in the two right lanes in a chain-reaction incident. No one seemed to be significantly injured in the incident, but EMTs may have taken one individual to a nearby hospital.
The crash’s details are still being reviewed, but authorities believe the at-fault driver’s excessive speed may have played a factor.
For over an hour, crews combed the scene and gathered evidence, closing down the area to traffic. However, it has since reopened, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
All of the victims who were injured in this incident remain in our thoughts at this time.
Car Wreck Injuries Across Nevada
According to Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) data, about 61,500 vehicle accidents were recorded in Nevada last year, with a significant proportion of them resulting in serious or fatal injuries.
Multiple drivers are frequently engaged in more significant vehicle accidents, making the aftermath that much worse. In reality, these injuries are significantly more frequent in these crashes, especially when they occur at greater speeds or at junctions, as well as on highways, interstates, and other comparable areas.
Tragically, these injury-causing wrecks are all too prevalent in Nevada. This is especially true in cities like Las Vegas, Reno, Clark, Sparks, and Carson City, where multi-lane highways and city streets are congested or overcrowded. What’s worse, victims and their families are particularly susceptible in the aftermath of such tragedies.
Those involved in a catastrophic car accident may face significant financial hardships in addition to long-term injuries or physical discomfort, as well as mental anguish or trauma that needs continuing rehabilitation. When people die as a result of their injuries, their families are left with a mountain of medical bills and exorbitant funeral expenditures, all while trying to cope with the loss of their loved one. If you were injured or a loved one died in an avoidable automobile accident, however, you may be eligible for compensation.
