Las Vegas, NV – Metro Police Officer Killed By Fallen Metal Beam on US 95 at Centennial Pkwy

Las Vegas, NV (June 10, 2022) – On Friday morning, June 10, a deadly accident occurred on U.S. Highway 95 near the Centennial Parkway exit when a construction beam collapsed on top of a car.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, along with Nevada State Police, responded to the site of the incident. Early reports indicate that the driver of a tractor-trailer hauling a large piece of construction equipment was traveling southbound on Highway 95 when it collided with a metal beam while passing under an overpass. The metal beam then hit the driver traveling behind the tractor-trailer. Medics attempted life-saving measures, but the driver, identified only as a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said that the tractor-trailer driver is now cooperating with their investigation but have released no further details. An investigation into the incident is underway.
