Las Vegas, NV (May 6, 2022) – On Friday, May 6, troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a major accident at a busy Las Vegas intersection.
Around 12:45 p.m., officers said the incident occurred on eastbound/westbound Charleston Boulevard at its junction with Torrey Pines Drive. Per a preliminary police investigation, two vehicles crashed near the area after one driver failed to stop at the light.
Those involved in the accident did not appear to be significantly hurt, however, EMS units may have taken at least one or two victims to a nearby hospital.
The investigation into the incident’s circumstances is still underway, but officials believe speed or impairment may have been a factor. The area was shut down for about an hour as crews scrubbed the scene and collected evidence.
Our thoughts are with all victims hurt in this accident, as well as their families. We hope for their speedy recovery.
Nevada Motor Vehicle Accidents
According to data from the Nevada Department of Transportation, about 60,000 documented automobile incidents occurred in the Silver State throughout the span of just one year, with many of them resulting in serious injuries or even death. Several drivers are typically involved in more dangerous vehicle accidents.
These incidents hold a much higher risk of multiple injuries, especially when they occur at high speeds at intersections and on interstates, highways, and beyond. Unfortunately, these injury-causing collisions are all too frequent in Nevada. This is especially true on the crowded streets of Las Vegas, Sparks, Clark, Reno, and Carson City.
Even worse, in the aftermath of these fatal events, victims and their families are extremely vulnerable.
Following a major vehicle accident, those involved may face significant financial challenges in addition to ongoing physical pain and injuries, as well as emotional anguish. When victims die as a result of their injuries, their bereaved families are then faced with a mountain of medical bills and steep funerary expenses. However, if you’ve been injured or lost a loved one in an avoidable car accident, you may be entitled to compensation.
