Las Vegas, NV (May 18, 2022) – On May 18, in the late evening hours, the Nevada State Highway Patrol and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a significant car accident that occurred on eastbound Lake Mead Boulevard.
After the accident occurred at 9:15 p.m. on Lake Mead, close to the area leading onto I-15, there were many reports of traffic backups. The incident also allegedly resulted in multiple injuries. Troopers have speculated that one motorist who was driving at an excessive speed or under the influence of alcohol may have contributed to the event, even though the investigation is still continuing.
Further information about the vehicle wreck will be made public over the next several days.
Everyone who was hurt in this accident is in our thoughts, and we send our best wishes their way as they recover.
Top Causes of Nevada Vehicle Accidents
Most fatal accidents in Nevada’s counties over the last several years have been caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the most current statistics from the state’s authorities.
Throughout the Silver State, over 520 individuals lost their lives as a result of accidents caused by drunk driving in 2017. This statistic represents a near 15-year high for the number of people who were murdered as a result of DUI events.
The number of fatal motor vehicle accidents in Nevada has more than tripled when compared to the same time period in the year 2020. It is impossible to refute the fact that the state of Nevada has an unacceptably high rate of car accidents, one that is far higher than the norm for the country as a whole.
Furthermore, when a victim dies as a result of an accident that was caused by another driver’s recklessness, their loved ones and family members are placed in an emotionally devastating, highly frustrating position. Funeral expenses, as well as the expensive medical bills that the victim left behind, must be paid for by the bereaved family members, even as they try to come to terms with the untimely death of a loved one.
Thankfully, you may be eligible to get monetary compensation for any losses that have occurred as a consequence of the accident if it can be shown that the incident was caused by the negligence of another driver. This might include compensation for lost pay, pain and suffering, damaged property, and medical expenditures. It can also include disability benefits, not to mention lost earning potential.
