Las Vegas, NV (April 5, 2022) – An auto accident reported in the Las Vegas area early Tuesday morning, April 5, resulted in an unknown number of injuries.
Around 4:30 a.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, along with emergency medical services, responded to the scene of the wreck. Police say the incident occurred on Ogden Avenue at 3rd Street, with traffic jams for at least a mile approaching the intersection.
Reports from the LVMPD indicated that the collision involved two passenger vehicles that collided in an apparent rear-end wreck.
Medical personnel transported at least one person to a local medical center, though the total number of injured victims and the extent of their injuries remain unclear. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the police, and further details will be released in the coming days.
Our thoughts are with the victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.
Injury Car Accidents in Nevada
Per the Nevada Department of Transportation, more than 50,000 vehicle accidents occur each year across the state. Furthermore, officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that the majority of these incidents take place in the Las Vegas metropolitan region.
Though the majority of collisions throughout the Silver State are minor, generally owed to fender benders or rear-end accidents, some result in more serious injuries. Plus, victims can still sustain injuries in low-impact crashes.
Some of the most common auto accident injuries, even at wrecks that happen at low speeds, include but are not limited to:
- Traumatic brain injuries (TBI)
- Spinal cord injuries and related paralysis
- Internal bleeding or organ injuries
- Limb loss and amputation
Even worse, a regional breakdown of motor vehicle accidents in Nevada shows that nearly three-quarters of the state’s fatal accidents occur in urban in Clark County, notably in Las Vegas.
When it comes to injury-causing auto accidents or even fatal collisions, victims and families are particularly vulnerable in the aftermath. And it’s all too clear that these motor vehicle accidents are an unfortunately common fact of life in Nevada, particularly on the streets of Las Vegas and in the greater metro area.
But if you’ve been affected by one of these wrecks, you don’t have to go through this time alone. If you’ve sustained injuries in a motor vehicle accident, it’s vital that you reach out to a car accident lawyer in Las Vegas right away.
