Accidents in Las Vegas Involving Commercial Trucks
Large commercial trucks pose a major hazard on America’s highways. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 340,000 vehicle accidents involving heavy trucks occurred in the United States in only one year alone. Moreover, these oversized trucks were involved in roughly 3,970 fatalities and an estimated 95,000 injury incidents.
Furthermore, per the NHTSA, about one person is wounded or killed in a heavy truck-related incident every 15 to 20 seconds. Because some fully loaded trucks weigh up to 80,000 pounds and measure up to 70 or 80 feet in length, the results of truck-related incidents are often disastrous.
If you travel in Las Vegas on a daily basis, you are probably used to sharing the roads and highways with enormous trucks. It is quite risky to collide with one of these vehicles. It may also result in life-threatening injuries and deaths. The size and power of a huge vehicle upon contact may inflict significant property damage as well as serious injury to both drivers and passengers. Have you been injured in a collision with an 18-wheeler? Are you suffering financially as a result of medical costs and missed income? If you were in a car that collided with one of these vehicles, a tractor-trailer or commercial truck accident might be disastrous in many ways. The driver, passengers, and the vehicle in which you are driving may sustain significant damage.
Furthermore, these lawsuits are often problematic since commercial and transportation organizations may not want to pay out damages for their drivers’ recklessness or other negligent behavior. This is one of the many reasons why it is critical to contact a skilled Las Vegas truck accident lawyer as soon as possible after a collision. You may be eligible for monetary compensation for your pain and suffering depending on the facts of your injury.
