Las Vegas, NV (May 8, 2022) – On Sunday, May 8, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department reported a semi-truck collision in Paradise that resulted in injuries.

As a result of the incident, many lanes of eastbound Flamingo Road near the Boulder Highway were shut down, with stop-and-go traffic causing delays of two or three miles for other motorists. Officers from the LVMPD arrived at the site at 6:45 p.m., but they didn’t say how many vehicles crashed or how many victims were injured. However, one person was reportedly transported to a local hospital by Paradise-area EMTs.

Officials are now conducting an investigation and have not released any more information to the public.

Our thoughts are with the semi-truck accident victims, as well as their families. We hope for the complete recovery of those hurt in this incident.

Nevada 18-Wheeler Accidents

Las Vegas, NV - Victims Hurt in Semi-Truck Accident on Flamingo Rd at Boulder Hwy

In just one year, 18-wheeler trucks and other commercial vehicles were involved in roughly 350,000 accidents throughout the country, according to NHTSA figures.

Furthermore, tractor-trailers were involved in nearly 4,000 fatal crashes, with an estimated 98,000 collisions resulting in serious injuries. Unfortunately, these kinds of major vehicle wrecks are frighteningly common in Nevada, especially in Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City, and other surrounding communities with packed roadways.

Following a tragic accident, particularly one involving a large commercial vehicle, victims may endure considerable financial hardships as well as permanent physical pain and health issues, all on top of significant emotional trauma. When victims die as a consequence of their injuries, their heartbroken families are left to shoulder high medical and burial costs.
