Las Vegas, NV (May 17, 2022) – On May 17, in the late evening hours, personnel of the Nevada Roadway Patrol were sent to the site of a serious accident that had taken place on a highway in the vicinity of Paradise in the greater Las Vegas area. 

At the time of the incident, which took place at around 11:15 p.m., police officers shut down Tropicana Avenue/Highway 593 at Maryland Parkway in both directions, eastbound and westbound traffic. A chain reaction led to an accident that involved two vehicles traveling in the rightmost lanes of the road. Both vehicles were engaged in the collision.

Though it seems as if no one had suffered serious injuries as a consequence of the event, it does appear emergency medical workers sent one person to a hospital for minor to moderate injuries in the surrounding region.

The facts surrounding the collision are still being investigated by the police, but they have a strong suspicion that excessive speed played a significant role in the incident. As the crash site was sealed off, the crews spent close to an hour clearing the area and collecting evidence.
