Hit-Skip Crashes Throughout Las Vegas
In Nevada, many of the annual 40,500 vehicle accidents are caused by hit-and-run drivers who escape the scene. According to a recent report, Nevada has one of the highest rates of fatal hit-and-run incidents in the whole country. At a time when the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety estimates that hit-and-run accidents occur around once every minute on U.S. highways, this is a particularly distressing statistic.
Along with a rise in the frequency of hit-and-run accidents in Nevada, this data raises grave worries about the state’s present traffic condition. In 2016, as many as 2,065 people were killed by these occurrences, the largest number ever reported and a 68% rise over the previous year. In 2009, 1,390 people perished as a result of these catastrophes.
In addition to experiencing tremendous financial troubles, acute physical pain, and a protracted recuperation period that may last many weeks or months, victims of automobile accidents may also experience great mental suffering. If the individual who caused the accident leaves the scene without offering aid or information, it may be difficult for the victim to get assistance, which might exacerbate the issue.
