Las Vegas, NV – Hit-and-Run on Spring Mtn Rd at Rainbow Blvd Injures Victims

Las Vegas, NV (July 21, 2022) – According to the most recent police reports, a hit-and-run accident that injured at least one person occurred on a nearby city road on Thursday, July 21.

This happened before police got to the scene of an accident that occurred on Spring Mountain Road and Rainbow Boulevard. Nearly an hour after the first call, EMS units and medical personnel from the neighboring hospital arrived and started assisting the injured. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and municipal authorities, the crash involved two drivers, one of whom apparently left the scene.

Paramedics apparently transferred one of the drivers or passengers to a nearby hospital, according to police reports. As the investigation continues, it’s impossible to say exactly how many people have been injured as of yet. Anyone who saw the collision or was a bystander is urged to call the LVMPD immediately.

These hit-and-run victims have our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hit-Skip Drivers & Accidents in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - Hit-and-Run on Spring Mtn Rd at Rainbow Blvd Injures VictimsMany drivers attempt to dodge accountability for their actions by fleeing the scene of an automobile collision. These “hit-and-run” drivers commit horrendous crimes, leaving other motorists maimed or murdered, or with enormous repair and medical expenses. They then flee the scene of the accident.

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety revealed statistics in 2018 showing an alarming increase in the incidence of hit-and-run accidents, sometimes known as “hit-skip” events. In the United States, it is estimated that one hit-and-run occurs every minute. Since 2006, the average number of hit-and-run events has risen to more than 680,000 every year. This is a huge rise above last year’s figures.

These incidents claimed the lives of at least 2,050 individuals in 2016, a 60% increase in mortality from 2009. More alarmingly, during the previous decade, the yearly rate of hit-and-runs rose by an average of 7%. Those who flee the scene of an accident in Nevada may be arrested and charged with a misdemeanor. Those found guilty risk a jail sentence of up to six months and a fine of up to $2,000 if convicted. However, if the accident causes significant property damage, major injury, or death, the charge may be elevated to a Category B felony.
