Las Vegas, NV (May 10, 2022) – Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to a major collision at a Las Vegas crossroads in the afternoon hours of Sunday, May 9.

Officers were directing traffic at 5:15 p.m. and reported the incident happened on westbound-eastbound Charleston Boulevard near Pecos Road and Palm Street. Two vehicles collided at the corner of Charleston and Pecos, according to the preliminary details, after one of the motorists reportedly ran the light.

Although no one seemed to be seriously injured in the crash, EMTs may have transported one person to a local hospital. The facts of the crash are still being investigated, but investigators suspect excessive speeding on the part of the at-fault driver may have played a role.

Crews scoured the site and gathered evidence for approximately an hour, shutting down the intersection to traffic. It has since reopened, however, and the investigation is still active.
