Las Vegas, NV (June 1, 2022) – A two-car collision at the intersection of 215 and Centennial Parkway early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of one person and the serious injury of a three-year-old child, according to Las Vegas Metro Police.

The collision was reportedly caused by drunk driving, per preliminary information from the LVMPD. At the junction of Centennial Parkway and Shaumber, Metro reports that a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old woman ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. The police report that the woman then fled the accident site on foot. The police located her at her adjacent residence and arrested her a short time later. The front-seat passenger of the woman’s vehicle, a 37-year-old male, died at the scene.

A three-year-old child was transported to U.M.C. Trauma, where his condition was last reported to be serious. Two passengers in the other car sustained only minor injuries. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and police asked any witnesses to come forward.
