The total number of fatalities on Nevada’s roadways rose to 370 in 2017 from 280 in 2016, according to official statistics. More than 250 people have lost their lives in incidents involving pedestrians in Clark County over the last decade, which is quite worrisome.

Worse, both drunk driving and excessive speeding contributed to the severity of these tragic collisions. There was an increase in the number of injuries and fatalities among pedestrians in these accidents. There may have been as many as 95 pedestrian deaths in the state by the end of 2021, according to authorities; however, this estimate and the precise data are still up for debate. Distracted driving encompasses a wide range of dangerous behaviors, including texting, talking on the phone, and fiddling with the radio while operating a vehicle.
