Las Vegas, NV – UPDATE: Stephen Palmatier Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash at Shaumber Rd & Centennial Pkwy
Las Vegas, NV (June 2, 2022) – Stephen Wayne Palmatier Jr., of Las Vegas, has been identified as the man killed in a hit-and-run incident in the northwest valley on Wednesday, June 1.
Palmatier, 37, was a passenger in a 2021 Volkswagen that was at a light and stopped at the intersection of Shaumber Road and West Centennial Parkway. Additionally, his wife and two children were in the vehicle.
Metro Police report that a vehicle traveling south across the intersection collided with a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling west on Centennial Parkway that ran a stop sign before crashing into the Volkswagen. After the collision, the driver of the Jeep fled west on foot and was apprehended at her neighboring apartment. A 3-year-old passenger in the Volkswagen sustained significant injuries in the collision.
According to authorities, a 6-year-old daughter and Kristen, Palmatier’s 38-year-old wife, had minor injuries. Stephen Palmatier was seated in the front passenger seat on the right. He passed away at the site of the incident. Police identified the Jeep’s driver as Lisa Geurino, 38, of Las Vegas. She is charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, and failure to stop at the site of an accident.
