Las Vegas, NV – US 95 Site of Multi-Vehicle Wreck & Injuries at Cheyenne Ave
Las Vegas, NV (September 19, 2022) – In the vicinity of Las Vegas, a vehicle accident happened on September 19, Monday morning, at about 11:20 a.m.
Although it’s unclear how many people were killed, officials have verified that at least two others were injured. Metro Police officers put signs cautioning drivers to stay away from the vicinity of Highway 95 close to Cheyenne Avenue as they approached the scene. However, neither a public update nor any information on the two casualties who were transported in an ambulance has been made available. More information will be made public when the police have spoken with all parties and pertinent witnesses.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s investigation has officially started, and officers are questioning potential witnesses.
We hope for a full recovery for all injured victims.
Traffic Accident Rates in Las Vegas
Between January and June of 2022, there were more road deaths, according to the Nevada Transportation Authority. Nevada still has the highest mortality rate in the country despite an 11% improvement across the board. In Clark County, there was a 25% increase in hospital admissions and fatalities between the beginning of the year and the middle of the year. Since most Nevadans commute mostly by driving their own cars, it seems sensible that the recent rise in petrol costs may have decreased the frequency of collisions in the state’s largest cities. However, it seems that despite increases in highway maintenance investment, fuel costs, COVID-19 limitations and shutdowns, and other factors, the number of fatal accidents has increased over the last three years.
