Deaths of Pedestrians Reported in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - Victim Dies in Suspected Pedestrian Accident on Blue Diamond RdThe Nevada Department of Transportation projects that the number of fatal and nonfatal vehicle accidents in the Silver State will reach an all-time high in 2021, making it the worst year since 2005. At the end of December of the prior year, Nevada recorded 370 road deaths, a 26 percent increase over the previous year. About 250 individuals perished in Clark County, where this horrible pattern was worsening.

Drunk driving and excessive speed were the primary culprits of these deadly collisions, which disproportionately harmed pedestrians. According to the final tally and data, an increase in pedestrian deaths in the state in 2021 may have resulted in up to 85 deaths. Texting, making phone calls, and adjusting the radio are all forms of distracted driving that increase accident risk.

Even worse, these incidents may cause the victims long-term bodily and psychological stress. Even if they recover completely, victims may have increased medical bills, loss of income, and other consequences.
