Las Vegas, NV (June 8, 2022) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by an automobile in the Las Vegas area on Tuesday evening, June 7, according to police.

On Tuesday night at around 10:30 p.m., the incident occurred on Maryland Parkway, just south of East Reno Avenue. Metro Police reported in their preliminary investigation that the driver of a Volkswagen sedan was northbound on Maryland when they struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the site of the crash after resuscitation efforts by medical personnel failed. Identifying details about the victim, as well as the events leading up to the wreck, remain unknown.

According to police, the driver remained at the scene and showed no indications of intoxication. Metro’s Crash Investigation Section is investigating the circumstances around the collision.
