Las Vegas, NV – Victims Hurt in Car Accident at Eastern Ave & Desert Inn Rd

Las Vegas, NV (May 18, 2022) – On May 18, in the late evening hours, members of the Nevada Highway Patrol were sent to the scene of a significant collision that had occurred at an intersection within the greater Las Vegas area.

The intersection of southbound Eastern Avenue and eastbound Desert Inn Road was closed off by law enforcement personnel while the incident was under inquiry, right around 9:00 p.m. The accident involved two automobiles moving in the rightmost lanes of the road and was caused by a chain reaction that started in the adjacent lane.

It seems as if no one had suffered major injuries as a result of the occurrence; however, it does appear that emergency medical professionals transported one individual from the surrounding area to a hospital for treatment of injuries, reportedly ranging from mild to moderate in severity.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being looked into by the police, but officers say excessive speed was a key contributing factor in the accident. The teams spent close to an hour clearing the area and gathering evidence.

At this time, we are hoping for a speedy recovery for each of the individuals who were injured in this crash.

Traffic Accident Data on Injuries in Nevada

Las Vegas, NV - Victims Hurt in Car Accident at Eastern Ave & Desert Inn RdIt was estimated by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) that the state of Nevada saw roughly 61,600 car accidents last year, and a significant number resulted in either life-threatening or fatal injuries.

The reality is that it is very usual for there to be more than one driver involved in catastrophic automotive accidents, which makes the aftermath of the collision that much more distressing. In point of fact, the frequency of serious injuries is much greater in collisions that include more than one motorist.

This is especially true when the crashes occur at extreme speeds or at crowded crossings on streets, as well as on highways, interstates, and other analogous locations of the country and the world.

Places like Las Vegas and Reno are known for their high population density, and consequently, their roads and city streets tend to be congested, making them common sites for these sorts of crashes. Worse still, victims often have to bear the burden of considerable financial obligations, immediate or long-term physical discomfort, and psychological trauma that need long-term treatment.

When victims of accidents die away as a consequence of their injuries, their families are frequently left with a mountain of medical bills and hefty funeral expenditures to pay, all while they are having to come to terms with the loss of a loved one who has been taken from them.
