A neighbor reportedly found the dog and turned it over to the police, who then handed the dog over to animal control.

We offer our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Joan Cafflel.
Deadly Dog Attacks & Bites Throughout Nevada
The latest numbers show that 36 people in Las Vegas lost their lives due to dog bites in 2018. And although they only make up around 7% of the dog population in the US, Pit Bulls are responsible for 72% of fatal dog attacks. Pit Bulls made up 6% of Las Vegas’ canine population, but were responsible for 60% of dog attacks and assaults, which is on par with national rates. While dogs are known as man’s best friend and are generally well-behaved, they nevertheless possess a degree of instinct that is comparable to that of humans, whether it be learned or not.
There is a need for a Las Vegas dog bite lawsuit firm because some owners intentionally or unintentionally provoke dog attacks by training their dogs to attack, mistreating their animals, or generally acting in a manner that compels their pets to act out of self-defense. Dog bites are very traumatic, but they are also a type of physical harm like any other, and they may have lasting effects on a person’s health and capacity to function effectively in society. Even though dog attack responsibility rules and regulations vary from state to state, most courts use either strict liability or “one bite” concepts.
Dog attack and animal bite victims may face financial hardships, long-term physical concerns or chronic health problems, and mental agony as a result of their ordeal. The victims’ loved ones may be placed in a dreadful position if and when they pass away. It’s not uncommon for families to be hit with substantial medical and funeral costs after the unexpected death of a loved one. On the other hand, if a dog attack has caused you physical pain or the loss of a loved one, you may have recourse in the court system.
