Injury Reports For Pedestrians in Reno

Reno, NV - One Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Bennie LnThe Nevada Department of Transportation predicts that the number of fatal and nonfatal automotive accidents in the Silver State will reach an all-time high in 2021, making it the worst year since 2005. At the end of December of the previous year, Nevada recorded 370 road deaths, a 28% increase over the previous year.

Approximately 240 persons were killed in Clark County, where this horrific practice was on the rise. Drunk driving and excessive speed were the primary contributors to these deadly collisions, in which pedestrians were disproportionately wounded. A surge in pedestrian fatalities in the state in 2021 may have resulted in as many as 85 deaths, based on the final tally and data. Texting, chatting on the phone and adjusting the radio are all forms of distracted driving that increase the risk of a collision. Even worse, the sufferers may have long-term physical and psychological stress as a consequence. Even if they make a full recovery, victims may experience increased medical costs and economic loss, among other consequences.
