Nevada Car Accident Deaths & Injuries
In 2017, state officials reported that the overwhelming majority of deadly accidents involved driver inattention or impairment. According to authorities, there were more than 130 head-on collisions in Nevada caused by DUI drivers between 2014 and 2018, with nearly 20 people killed as a result.
In the case of some incidents, such as wrong-way wrecks, the figures are even direr.
The Nevada Department of Transportation, on the other hand, is putting wrong-way driving detection devices to the test, making it one of a few states looking at new technology to prevent these tragic collisions.
Officials claim that wrong-way cars were informed and allowed to turn around about 90% of the time before entering the motorway thanks to these new technologies. Despite this, deadly wrong-way crashes continue to be rather prevalent in Nevada, particularly in and around the Las Vegas region.
And when victims of wrong-way crashes die as a result of their injuries, their families may find themselves in an unbelievably devastating situation. Medical and funeral expenses pile up, overwhelming vulnerable families already in mourning for their lost loved ones.
