Nevada Car Accident Statistics
The number of road deaths increased between January and June of 2022, according to the Nevada Transportation Authority and officials with the Department of Transportation. Despite an 11% increase nationally, Nevada has the highest mortality rate in the country. Clark County’s death and injury toll jumped by 25% between January and June.
The recent rise in fuel costs is likely to have reduced the frequency of accidents in Nevada’s largest cities, where the majority of inhabitants still rely on their own cars as their primary form of transportation. In the face of increases in highway maintenance costs, fuel prices, COVID-19 limitations and closures, and other factors, the number of fatalities related to automobile accidents still seems to have climbed over the past three years.
