Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Nevada
Authorities with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report that nearly 13 passenger vehicles out of every 100,000 are involved in a fatal accident.
Unfortunately, motorcyclists are at a much higher risk of serious injury and death. In fact, crashes involving a motorcycle have a fatality rate of more than 70 per 100,000. Throughout the state of Nevada, there were over 50 motorcycle fatalities in just one year alone. This figure marks a decrease from the previous year, though motorcycle fatality rates over the past decade have been steadily rising.
Sadly, it’s all too clear that serious or even deadly motorcycle accidents in Nevada are an unfortunate fact of life, particularly on the busy streets of Reno, Las Vegas, Clark, Carson City, and beyond. Furthermore, when it comes to these fatal accidents, victims and their families pay the price in the aftermath.
Moreover, those affected often cope with financial difficulties, long-term physical issues, and emotional trauma. When victims die as a result of these incidents, their loved ones may be left in an unbelievably tough position. Families must often endure exorbitant medical and funerary expenses. From lifelong debilitation and disabilities for victims to severe trauma for those left behind when victims pass away, those affected are left to pick up the pieces.
Thankfully, if you’ve sustained injuries or lost a loved one in a motorcycle accident, you may have legal recourse.
