Las Vegas, NV (May 25, 2022) – Two people were killed during a single-vehicle accident in the Spring Valley area of Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 24th.

The incident took place at about 5:15 a.m. when a 2012 Chevrolet Corvette traveling at a high rate of speed on South Jones Boulevard struck the median. 

The Corvette then struck a curb line and a power pole before smashing through a fence, flipping, and coming to an uncontrolled stop in a parking lot.

Witnesses reported seeing a heavily damaged vehicle lying in a parking lot off of South Jones Boulevard in the area of West Flamingo Road.

The vehicle’s passenger, who has since been identified as a 34-year-old woman from Las Vegas, died at the scene.

The driver, a 34-year-old man from Las Vegas, was thrown from the vehicle on impact. Paramedics transported him to University Medical Center where he passed away due to the severity of his injuries. 

The crash also resulted in power outages for several surrounding businesses and homes.
