Las Vegas, NV (June 11, 2022) – On Saturday, June 11, Las Vegas Metro Police officers were sent to investigate a crash involving a semi-truck driver that resulted in injuries to at least one victim.
The accident happened at around 7:45 p.m. on southbound Interstate 15 at Exit 34 and the 215 Southern Beltway, blocking the right lanes of traffic. Everyone who was hurt in today’s accident has our best wishes for a swift and thorough recovery.
Semi-Trailer Accidents Across Las Vegas
According to recent statistics from the Nevada Department of Transportation, over 51,000 automobile collisions occurred throughout the state in just one year. The statistics for tractor-trailer or heavy vehicle accidents are much grimmer. Indeed, fatal truck incidents accounted for roughly 8% of all road fatalities in Nevada.
Unfortunately, major truck accidents are a typical occurrence in Nevada, particularly considering the desert’s vast expanses of roadway. Worse, these collisions resulted in the deaths of nearly 4,750 people, making it clear that there are far too many accidents involving tractor-trailers in the state of Nevada. This is especially the case on the major highways that cut across the Silver State, such as Highway 95, which runs through Las Vegas; Interstate 15, which connects Las Vegas to Reno and other cities; U.S. Route 93; and Nevada Interstate 395, traversing Carson City. In the aftermath of deadly accidents around the state, victims and families are especially vulnerable.
