Las Vegas, NV – I-15 Site of Injury Semi-Truck Wreck at US 95
Las Vegas, NV (June 9, 2022) – On Thursday, June 9, officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police were sent to investigate a semi-trailer collision that ended in injuries.
Multiple left lanes on southbound Interstate 15 near U.S. Highway 95/Spaghetti Bowl were blocked by the accident at around 12:30 p.m., causing a significant traffic backlog that lasted for nearly an hour. In addition, emergency medics from Las Vegas were dispatched to the collision site to assess the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the victims.
However, neither the LVMPD nor any other first responders who reported to the crash site have revealed details on the accident’s cause or the victims’ injuries. The police investigation into the events preceding this traffic collision is still ongoing, and no new information has been released.
We extend our best well wishes to the victims hurt in this accident and hope for their fast and full recovery.
Collisions Involving Large Trucks Across Las Vegas
Oversized commercial automobiles, which include large semi-trailers, city buses, and other similar vehicles, contributed significantly to approximately 363,000 traffic accidents in the United States in a single year, according to the most recent data collected by Nevada authorities.
Nearly 4,750 individuals died as a consequence of these wrecks, and at least 100,000 were severely wounded. Obviously, Nevada has an unfortunately high incidence of tractor-trailer-related incidents. This is particularly applicable to Highway 95, which goes through Las Vegas, Interstate 15, U.S. Highway 93, and Nevada Interstate 395, which traverses Carson City.
Accidents involving tractor-trailer drivers, tragically, have the potential to inflict life-altering consequences, as well as devastating financial implications, on victims. This is owing to the fact that semi-trailer drivers are more likely to travel greater distances than other drivers and travel in these much bigger trucks, which magnifies the severity of the repercussions of a car accident.
