Las Vegas, NV (September 11, 2022) – At 4:00 p.m. on September 11, a significant vehicle collision happened in the Las Vegas area, and officials reported that an unknown number of people were hurt.
The number of casualties and the extent of their injuries were first unknown to rescuers. Las Vegas police recommended drivers avoid the intersection of Frank Sinatra Drive and Park Avenue as they cleared the scene. Neither of the two patients who were taken by ambulance has been updated on their health. The police will be able to offer further details after interrogating all involved individuals and any relevant witnesses.
The Metropolitan Police Division has begun its investigation and is now conducting witness interviews.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with the victims and their loved ones, and we hope that those who were injured may make full recoveries as soon as possible.
Serious Injuries Caused by Automobile Crashes Across Las Vegas
The Nevada Transportation Authority notes an uptick in traffic deaths from January to June of 2022. Nevada has the biggest rise in death rates, even though the national average is 11%. Between January and June, there was a 25% rise in fatalities and serious injuries in Clark County. It’s possible that the recent rise in gasoline prices has prevented many unfortunate accidents in Nevada’s major metropolitan areas, where the vast majority of residents still depend on personal vehicles as the primary mode of transportation.
Despite rising highway maintenance spending, gasoline prices, the introduction of COVID-19, and shutdown restrictions, it appears that the number of deaths that can be attributed to accidents has increased over the past three years. Even those who walk away from a car crash with just minor injuries and no major property damage may have to deal with the emotional and financial fallout for years to come.
