Las Vegas, NV – Juvenile Seriously Hurt in Pedestrian Accident on Miller Ave at Revere St

Las Vegas, NV (July 5, 2022) – On Monday, July 4, a minor was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian incident in Las Vegas.

According to preliminary information, the hit-and-run occurred about 8:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Miller Avenue, just west of Revere Street. Early accounts suggest that the juvenile was standing on the roadway in front of a house when they were struck by a probable Chevrolet Cruze traveling westbound on Miller. Following the collision, the driver of the suspect car drove away from the site. When rescue services arrived, the pedestrian was in critical condition and was transported to a hospital.

Vehicle parts discovered at the site indicated that the vehicle was potentially a silver 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Cruze with damage to the driver’s side mirror. Other information was not provided, although the event is still being investigated.

We send our deepest condolences to the wounded victim and their loved ones.

Injuries to Pedestrians Reported in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - Juvenile Seriously Hurt in Pedestrian Accident on Miller Ave at Revere StThe Nevada Department of Transportation predicts that the number of people killed and injured in car accidents in the Silver State will reach a record high in 2021, the worst year since 2005. By the end of December of the previous year, the state of Nevada had 370 road deaths, a 25% or more increase over the year before. In Clark County, where the direction of this grim trend was much worse, some 250 individuals perished.

Drunk driving and excessive speed were the primary contributing factors in these deadly collisions, which disproportionately affected pedestrians. Up to 80 people may have died as a result of an increase in pedestrian deaths in the state in 2021, according to the final tally and figures. Texting, talking on the phone, or adjusting the radio while driving all constitute forms of distracted driving that increase the risk of an accident.

Worse still, these incidents may cause long-term physical and emotional harm to those who are afflicted by these incidents. Victims may face fast-rising medical costs, lost income, and other effects, even if they completely recover. Exorbitant medical and funeral expenditures are imposed on families when a pedestrian dies as a result of an accident.
