Las Vegas, NV (August 12, 2022) – The most current police records indicate that at least one passenger was hurt in a crash on a neighboring roadway on Friday evening, August 12th.

Just after 7:30 p.m., an incident happened at the U.S. Route 95 exit off of northbound Interstate 15. Within minutes, medical personnel and emergency personnel came to assist the injured. The Las Vegas Metro Police Department and local officials believe that one of the two drivers involved in the crash fled the scene; it is yet unknown whether or not the motorist they believe to be at blame has been located.

According to the police report, one of the drivers or passengers was carried to the hospital by paramedics. Authorities have not determined the overall number of victims or injuries resulting from the ongoing inquiry. Any bystanders or witnesses should immediately notify the LVMPD.

We hope that those wounded in today’s car collision recover soon and completely.

Nevada’s Rate of Injury Automobile Accidents

Las Vegas, NV - Major Car Crash, Injuries on I-15 at US 95 Under InvestigationEven though Nevada is mostly a rural state, the vast majority of accidents occur in its metropolitan regions. According to the data, approximately 31% of fatal collisions occur in rural regions, whereas slightly under 70% occur in metropolitan areas. As many drivers are commuting home, the early and late evening hours are the most typical time of day for fatal collisions in Nevada, not the wee hours of the morning.

What’s more, approximately 19% of all fatal collisions occurred between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. And even worse is the fact that Nevada has seen a rise in both traffic deaths and fatal collisions over the previous decade. Per the Office of Traffic Safety, 285 fatal collisions resulted in 304 fatalities in the most recent year. Throughout the same year, automobile accidents caused over 1,000 serious injuries in the state. Automobile accidents may result in severe injuries to practically any region of the body, putting victims in a difficult position physically, financially, and emotionally. For example, vehicle accidents are a primary cause of traumatic brain injury, which happens when the brain is harmed by a blow to the head or a penetrating injury. Each year, 50,000 individuals die from TBI, and an additional 80,000 to 90,000 are left with a permanent impairment.
