Las Vegas, NV (November 18, 2021) – On Thursday morning, November 18, a motor vehicle accident resulted in an undisclosed number of injuries in Las Vegas.
At around 11:45 a.m., officers with the Las Vegas Police Department, along with firefighters and emergency medical services, responded to the scene of an accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 95 at the exit to Boulder Highway.
Reports from the LVPD further indicated that the multi-vehicle crash blocked nearly all southbound lanes, causing stop-and-go traffic back to Charleston Boulevard.
EMS personnel took at least one person to a local hospital, where they underwent further treatment for their injuries. The number of injured victims and the extent of their injuries remain unclear. The cause of the wreck remains under investigation by officers. They asked any witnesses with information about the collision to contact them directly.
Our thoughts are with the victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.
Nevada Multi-Vehicle Accidents
According to the Nevada Department of Transportation, more than 50,000 vehicle accidents occur each year across the state. Furthermore, officials from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that the majority of these crimes occur in the Las Vegas metropolitan region. In fact, approximately 70% of fatal accidents occur in metropolitan areas.
Plus, almost half of those accidents happened in Clark County, notably in Las Vegas and Clark. It’s evident that these car accidents are an awful reality of life in Nevada, particularly on the streets of Las Vegas and the surrounding area, which includes Clark and Reno.
And it goes without saying that victims and their families are particularly susceptible in the aftermath of harmful or even deadly vehicle accidents. Oftentimes, after a serious auto accident, those affected cope with financial difficulties, long-term physical issues, and major emotional trauma. When victims die from their injuries, their grieving family members are left to pick up the pieces.
