Victim Injuries Caused By Las Vegas Accidents

The majority of fatal car accidents in Nevada are caused by intoxicated or drugged drivers, according to the state’s highway patrol. Last year, the number of individuals killed or badly injured in traffic accidents in Nevada reached a record high as a result of drunk driving.

Since the beginning of the year, there have been twice as many fatal car accidents in Nevada compared to 2020. Worse still, the incidence of serious victim injuries in low-speed collisions has risen considerably. This is why, if you’ve been in a car accident and think you could be wounded, you should see a doctor or seek proper medical care and treatment right away.

There might be underlying injuries that aren’t manifesting symptoms right now but could worsen dramatically in the future, even if your accident was relatively minor and you feel that you simply sustained muscular discomfort or other slight injuries. Many different kinds of injuries may result from car accidents, but here are just a few common examples:

  • The purpose of airbags installed in vehicles’ steering wheels, dashboards, and other critical areas is to reduce the severity of occupant injuries in the event of a collision. Generally speaking, airbags are excellent innovations and have saved many lives. When they malfunction, however, and either fail to inflate after an accident or explode suddenly, they may be dangerous to those traveling in the automobile during a car accident.
  • When a car is rear-ended by a careless driver, the drivers’ and passengers’ bodies resist the motion, causing whiplash. Whiplash, a common neck injury caused by vehicle accidents, may have long-term consequences including chronic pain and discomfort or paralysis.
  • In a car accident, a direct blow to the head can be very damaging and result in serious brain damage. Symptoms of a traumatic brain injury (TBI), which may be fatal if left unmonitored or untreated, include a mild headache at first that then gets gradually worse.
