Las Vegas, NV (June 21, 2022) – Metro Police reported that a 25-year-old man was killed in an accident on Lamb Boulevard near Alto Avenue, just south of Cheyenne Avenue, on Monday evening, June 19.

According to authorities, the deceased victim, now identified as 25-year-old Rakeem Lichtenberger, was a passenger in a 2003 Ford Escape that collided with a northbound Kenworth tractor-trailer on Lamb around 10:15 p.m.

Ahmad Yakub, the 28-year-old driver of the Ford, sustained significant injuries and was sent to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. Israel Vasquez-Cruz, a 39-year-old man, has been identified as the tractor-trailer’s driver but was unharmed.

Police are probing the collision because Yakub allegedly displayed symptoms of intoxication. He is recuperating in the hospital at this time but is facing possible charges.
