Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Nevada

Las Vegas, NV - Victim Struck & Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Cameron St & Harmon AveAcross Nevada, the top contributing factors to deadly crashes are impairment and speeding. Moreover, these two causes, along with distracted driving and speeding, are the main causes of auto-pedestrian fatalities in the Silver State.

Even worse, pedestrian fatalities account for nearly 20% of all vehicle accident deaths, per reports from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Although deaths were lower in 2019 overall, they have increased more than 50% since reaching their lowest point, recorded in 2009.

The pedestrian fatality rate in and around the greater Las Vegas area, including Reno, has risen steadily in the last decade. In fact, nearly 20 pedestrians have been killed as a result of accidents in and around Las Vegas in 2022 alone. From hit-and-run collisions to DUIs and beyond, the reckless actions of drivers account for the majority of these incidents.

Major financial difficulties, long-term physical issues and disability, and severe emotional scarring are just a few of the devastating circumstances victims endure. And when victims die as a result of these incidents, their loved ones may be left in an unbelievably tough position. Families must often cope with exorbitant medical and funerary expenses on top of grieving their loved ones.

Thankfully, if you’ve sustained injuries or lost someone you love in a pedestrian accident, you may have legal options moving forward.
