Las Vegas, NV – Victims Hurt in Car Accident on 215 Bltwy at I-15

Las Vegas, NV (May 19, 2022) – On May 19, in the early evening hours, emergency responders and Las Vegas Metro Police personnel were sent to the site of a serious incident that had happened on a highway inside the greater Las Vegas region.

Right around 6:00 p.m. in the evening, the majority of the lanes of the eastbound 215 Beltway were blocked off by law enforcement officers at Exit 12 to the I-15 interchange while the incident was being investigated. Two vehicles traveling in the rightmost lanes of the road collided, leading to a domino effect that involved two additional drivers.

It would appear that no one sustained serious injuries as a direct result of the event; however, medics reportedly took one person from the crash site to a bearly hospital for treatment of injuries, evidently ranging in severity from mild to moderate.

Officers report that excessive speed was a factor that contributed to the accident; nevertheless, the facts surrounding the collision are still being evaluated.

At this time, we are thinking of everyone who was hurt in this collision.

Traffic Crash Data in Nevada

Las Vegas, NV - Victims Hurt in Car Accident on 215 Bltwy at I-15The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) calculated that there were around 61,700 vehicle accidents in the state of Nevada occurring over the course of the previous calendar year, and a sizeable percentage of those incidents resulted in injuries that were either life-threatening or fatal for the victims.

Worse still, the incidence of severe injuries is substantially larger in crashes that include more than one driver. These multiple-driver collisions are, sadly, trending upward in the Silver State on a year-over-year basis.

This is particularly the case when the collisions take place at very high speeds or at congested intersections on streets, as well as on highways, interstates, and other similar areas around the nation and the globe. Moreover, roadways and city streets in crowded, high-traffic locales like Las Vegas and Reno are frequent locations for these types of collisions.

Unfortunately, victims often have to shoulder the weight of significant medical expenses, other pressing financial constraints, acute or long-term physical pain, and psychological trauma that requires therapy over an extended period of time.

When victims of accidents pass away as a result of the injuries they sustained, their families are usually left with a mountain of medical bills and substantial funeral expenses to cover, all while they are forced to come to terms with the death of a loved one who has been suddenly and unexpectedly taken from them.
