Las Vegas, NV (November 25, 2021) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers are investigating a serious auto-pedestrian accident that occurred late Thursday, November 25.

The northbound lanes on  I-15 were closed for hours as state police responded to the fatal crash involving a pedestrian. Just before midnight, Nevada State Police posted that the wreck took place around mile marker 102, about 16 miles north of Mesquite.

According to Trooper Ashlee Wellman, a woman was hit by a passenger car. Despite life-saving measures performed by EMS units, she was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver involved did not suffer any injuries, Wellman added.

Officers say they are still piecing together the circumstances surrounding the collision but asked anyone with information to contact them directly.
