Las Vegas, NV (December 20, 2021) – One person died and a driver is wanted by police after fleeing the scene of an accident that occurred in the south Las Vegas valley Monday, December 20.
Around 6:30 a.m., police responded to Silverado Ranch Boulevard at Crisman Ridge Street, just west of Valley View Boulevard. Lt. David Gordon with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said that the crash involved a green 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck, a gray 1998 Infinity, and a blue 2001 Mustang.
Initial reports indicate that the pickup driver made a left-hand turn on Silverado Ranch at Crisman Ridge when they crossed paths with the Infinity. For unknown reasons, a gas can was then ejected from the back of the pickup and hit the Mustang, which was traveling behind the truck.
The driver of the Mustang did not sustain any injuries, though a female passenger in the Infinity suffered major injuries. She was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The male driver of the Infinity was also taken to the hospital but sustained only minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup abandoned his vehicle and fled from the scene on foot. Anyone with information about the suspect or the crash is urged to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
No other information was immediately available, and the investigation remains active.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim. Our thoughts are with the victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.
