North Las Vegas, NV – Victim Hospitalized in Pedestrian Collision at Craig Rd & Camino Del Norte

North Las Vegas, NV (August 17, 2022) – On Wednesday night, a pedestrian was critically injured in a collision on a street in North Las Vegas, according to the police.

Officer Alexander Cuevas of the North Las Vegas Police Department said the accident was reported around 8:40 p.m. near Camino Al Norte and Craig Road, which is located south of Lone Mountain Road. When the police came, they located a man in his 40s who had been hit by a car. His condition was last reported to be critical when he was brought to UMC.

The motorist did not flee the scene, and authorities do not believe that speeding or alcohol were contributing factors. There have been partial lane restrictions near the accident location but no complete road closures, according to Cuevas, who also reported that traffic and CSI units had attended.

We wish the injured person a speedy recovery and send our deepest condolences.

Accidents Involving Pedestrians in North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas, NV - Victim Hospitalized in Pedestrian Collision at Craig Rd & Camino Del NorteThe Nevada Department of Transportation predicts that 2021 will be the worst year for traffic deaths and injuries in the state since 2005. Since 2005 has been the best year, 2021 is set to be the worst. As 2017 came to a close, the number of people killed on Nevada’s roads had risen to 370, an almost 30% increase over the previous year’s final tally. More than 250 people were killed in Clark County, which unfortunately is experiencing an alarming uptick in this terrible trend. Driving while impaired by drink or drugs and driving too fast were important factors in these unfortunate outcomes.

By the end of 2021, officials anticipate that, depending on the final number and statistics, as many as ninety pedestrians may have been killed within the state. The risk of hitting a pedestrian increases dramatically when driving distractedly. This includes activities such as texting, making phone calls, and adjusting the radio station. It gets worse, though, because the victims of the calamity are saddled with prolonged emotional anguish, bodily harm, and astronomical bills.

It’s possible that even after a full recovery, victims will have to deal with additional expenses related to their care and missing wages.
