Paradise, NV (May 13, 2022) – Paradise Police Department officers reported a car collision on the evening of Friday, May 13, that resulted in injuries.

Around 6:15 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on Warm Springs Road in the Las Vegas enclave of Paradise, right before Spencer Street and Shadow Crest Drive. At least one person was transferred by ambulance to a local medical facility, however, their present status and the extent of the injuries they suffered are unknown.

While emergency units responded and authorities kept traffic away from the area, the intersection was blocked for many hours. Although the investigation is still underway, police believe impairment or speed could have played a role in the collision.

All injured victims are in our thoughts, and we wish them a speedy recovery.

Serious Injuries in Nevada Auto Accidents

Drunk and drugged driving is perhaps the most prevalent cause of fatal vehicle accidents in Nevada. Arrests for such behavior are up roughly 10%, while Las Vegas Metro Police reported 2,349 arrests in 2021, up from 2,141 occurring in the prior year. So far in 2021, Metro has made an average of 15 DUI arrests each and every day.

Car accident statistics are no less bleak on a national level. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 32,000 people are killed and more than two million people are wounded in vehicle accidents in the United States each year, making decreasing the number of collisions a key public health goal. Furthermore, research suggests that the United States’ vehicle collision fatality rate is more than double that of comparable industrialized nations.

Financial trials and tribulations, physically excruciating injuries and tough recoveries, and emotional or mental anguish are common among those affected by these tragedies. Victims’ loved ones may be put in an extremely difficult situation in the event that a person dies as a result of a careless driver’s conduct.
