Most Common Reasons Causing Nevada Traffic Crashes
While some claim that Nevada’s higher number of rural areas accounts for the state’s lower mortality and injury rates, others disagree. However, the reality is a little bit different. While fatal accidents occur more frequently in cities, they nevertheless occur in significant numbers in rural locations. Traffic on Nevada’s highways is at its highest after work between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m., and it declines dramatically between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Between 5:00 and 11:00 at night, the mortality toll was disproportionately high.
The already bad situation on Nevada’s roadways has worsened in recent years due to a rise in traffic-related deaths and injuries. In 2016, more than 280 persons were killed in traffic-related incidents, according to the Office of Traffic Safety. In that year, car accidents injured more than a thousand Nevada residents. Injuries sustained in car accidents can be devastating, affecting every part of a person’s body and leaving them defenseless from a medical, financial, and emotional standpoint. Accidents involving automobiles frequently result in traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), most frequently from blunt force trauma or penetrating lesions to the skull.
As a corollary, traumatic brain injuries cause roughly 51,000 fatalities and another 100,000 cases of permanent impairment each year.
