Reno, NV (March 16, 2022) – Officers with the Reno Police Department confirmed the death of an elderly man hit by a car on the sidewalk of State Street over the weekend.

According to police, first responders and fire rescue crews arrived on State Street, just west of Holcomb Avenue, on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a severely injured 69-year-old man lying on the sidewalk. REMSA rushed the man to the hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries, but he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the suspected at-fault driver remained on the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. The investigation is still ongoing, however, and further details have not been provided.
