Reno, NV (December 18, 2021) – A driver was transported to an area medical center with life-threatening injuries midday Thursday, December 16, after a serious auto accident.

Officers say the crash occurred at a traffic light pole at West Plumb Lane and South Virginia Street. Reno Police Department officials said the driver may have suffered a medical event that caused the incident, as impairment and speed do not appear to be factored into the wreck.

The incident closed lanes in the area around 11:30 a.m., and they remained closed into the late afternoon. It’s unclear if any other vehicles or victims were involved.

No other details were released, but the investigation is ongoing at this time.
