Sunrise Manor, NV (May 13, 2022) – An incident involving two to three drivers occurred late Friday evening, May 13, in the Sunrise Manor area, contributing to major traffic delays and injuries.
Around 9:00 p.m., Las Vegas Metro Police and Sunrise Manor first responders arrived at the area, reporting that many lanes near the intersection of Skywood Way and Forsythe Drive were closed as personnel handled the incident. Heavy traffic delays were verified by rescue teams almost an hour after the incident was originally reported, however, the area was cleared later that night.
At least one person was hospitalized for injuries, but the state of their injuries, as well as an update on their present condition, is unclear. The underlying cause for the crash is still being investigated by police.
All injured victims are in our thoughts, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
Nevada Vehicle Accident Injuries
Officials from the Nevada Department of Public Safety (NDOT) issued crash information for each county on a monthly and year-to-date basis. The latest data release indicated that crash rates increased by approximately 120% in May. Even worse, as compared to the same time period in 2020, fatal traffic accidents in the Silver State had more than tripled in the prior year.
Unfortunately, about 30 collisions occurred in the first quarter of 2021, with over 35 deaths reported statewide. By mid-way through the year, 100 collisions had transpired in Clark County alone with over 100 more deaths, marking a 40% surge year-to-date.
Clearly, in the state of Nevada, severe vehicle accidents are all too often. Economic difficulties, long-term bodily challenges, and emotional distress are common among those impacted by these incidents. Even worse, victims’ loved ones may be left in an extremely demanding situation in the event that victims die as a consequence of these devastating wrecks. Medical and funeral costs are frequently exorbitant, placing financial security out of reach for many grieving families.
