Las Vegas, NV – Driver Arrested For DUI in Fatal Bicycle Accident at Pecos Rd & Las Vegas Blvd

Las Vegas, NV (June 18, 2022) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred in the central valley on Friday evening, June 17.

Officers arrived at the junction of North Pecos Road and North Las Vegas Boulevard at around 9:25 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a bicycle and a car. The bicyclist was discovered by responding authorities and emergency workers and declared dead at the site of the wreck. They have not yet been identified by officials. Investigators suspect a Chevrolet Cobalt traveling northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard lost control and veered to the right, striking a biker who was on the sidewalk.

The Cobalt driver, identified as 26-year-old Raymond Perez-Hernandez, was treated for minor injuries before being arrested for DUI. This inquiry is still underway, and no additional details have been made available to the public.
