Nevada Car Accident Fatalities & Injuries
According to state statistics, the vast majority of fatal incidents in 2017 were caused by driver inattention or impairment. Between 2014 and 2018, there were more than 130 head-on crashes in Nevada caused by DUI drivers, with over 20 people killed as a result, according to officials.
The numbers are considerably grimmer in other cases, such as wrong-way collisions. The Nevada Department of Transportation, on the other hand, is putting wrong-way driving detecting systems to the test, making it one of only a few states to do so.
Officials claim that this latest technology notified wrong-way drivers and allowed them to turn around 90% of the time before hitting the highway. Despite this, fatal wrong-way collisions are still common in Nevada, particularly in and around the Las Vegas area.
When wrong-way collision victims die as a consequence of their injuries, their families may be left in an extremely difficult situation. Medical and funeral costs mount quickly, putting a strain on families who are already grieving the loss of a loved one. If you or a loved one has been hurt or killed in one of these tragic incidents, however, you may have legal recourse.
