Las Vegas, NV (March 28, 2022) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers said the driver of an SUV hit and killed a bicyclist at an east Las Vegas valley intersection Sunday evening, March 27, according to authorities.

The crash was called in around 8:15 p.m. and took place on Nellis Boulevard at Twain Avenue. Initial reports indicate that the driver of a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound on Nellis when they struck a cyclist who was heading east, per LVMPD. The bicyclist, identified only as a 35-year-old Las Vegas resident, suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the Jeep stayed to cooperate with authorities and did not show any signs of impairment. The investigation is ongoing at this time, however, and specific information about those involved has not been provided.
